GIFTS OF MONEY -- If you are able to make a gift of money to Pacifica at any time, please download and complete our Donation Form. We accept cash, certified cheques, money orders or Visa and Mastercard and you can mail or email your information to us, or come meet us in person.

GIFTS OF AUCTION OR PRIZE ITEMS -- At most of our major events throughout the year, we include an auction or raffle as a source of fundraising. If you are able to donate items or services to serve as raffle prizes or as auction items please let us know. DONATING GIFTS OF STOCK AND SECURITIES - Elimination of Capital Gains Tax on Gifts -- Making a donation of securities is a thoughtful way for you to make a gift and at the same time, benefit by increasing your tax savings.

Thanks to a new tax break introduced by the 2006 Federal Budget, which eliminated capital gains taxes on gifts of publicly listed securities donated to charities, all appreciated stock donated will be exempt from capital gains taxes.  In this way, the gift creates both a tax credit towards your annual income taxes plus a reduction in capital gains taxes.

Donors will receive a tax receipt for income tax purposes for the full market value of the securities at the date of the transfer.  This can be applied to your income taxes over the next five years, as any charitable contribution would, but in addition any capital gains taxes you would have paid on the shares are eliminated.  Gifts of appreciated publicly listed securities makes stock the least expensive way to give a donation.

Making a gift of stock is easy.  Simply ask your broker to contact Pacifica's Chief Executive Officer, Kerry Dennehy.  From that point, we will work with your broker and its financial institution to complete the donation.  The whole process can take up to three days from the point of informing your broker of your wish to make a gift.

IN MEMORIUM DONATIONS -- A powerful way to remember a lost loved one is to request that "in lieu of flowers" donations be made to Pacifica Treatment Centre. Families can list the name and address of Pacifica on the funeral program and in the obituary.

IN CELEBRATION DONATIONS - GIFT REGISTRY -- Those who suffer from addiction or have felt its effects are beginning to search for more meaningful ways to celebrate significant events in their lives. For example, one creative alternative is to celebrate a wedding or graduation by adding Pacifica to your gift registry.

WILLS - PLANNED GIVING -- You may wish to include a donation to Pacifica as part of your will. Please email Kerry Dennehy if that is your wish.

SPECIAL EVENTS / PROGRAMS -- Some examples are a triathalon, a trek, a tournament, a concert or dance, monthly donations from your employment cheque, scholarships in Pacifica's name or something brand new. The only limit is your imagination!
