Family Program
We offer two days where family and friends can come to Pacifica and be a part of our program.
Learning from the Past:
On the second Monday of the Level II program we begin at 9:00 with an instruction session for all the Level II clients and their guests that focuses on a definition of addiction, explores denial for both addicts and family members and discusses the impact of addiction on family members and friends.
There is a break for lunch and a walk, and then for the afternoon, in the client's small therapy groups, it is a chance for the guests to communicate the very real and personal ways that the client's addiction has effected them in a safe, supportive environment. The afternoon ends around 4:00pm with an opportunity to ground and contain the feelings and memories that have been talked about.
Preparing for the Future:
On the third Friday, the Level II clients and their guests meet in the classroom for information about the stages of recovery, relapse and relapse prevention and also to learn about support groups for people who have a relationship with someone dealing with addiction.
After the lunch and walk break, the clients share the beginnings of their plans for the future after treatment. In the second half of the afternoon the guests meet together separate from the clients to share their hopes and fears about what is coming after the clients leave treatment. Guests also experience the support and knowledge that is available from one another.
