3 Levels of Therapy

Level One - Stabilization

(minimum 72 hours clean & sober prior to admission)

For clients early in recovery, the transition period from the initial physical detox into a treatment program is a very critical time. Often individuals are eager to move into recovery, but do not have a stable home, community or lifestyle that supports their choice. They may be struggling with the physical, mental, or emotional symptoms of post acute withrawal, or may have challenging legal, medical, dental, or other personal issues that add to the difficulty of their early recovery. Pacifica's Level One program provides ongoing assessment and counselling in a safe, controlled living environment where clients can regain sufficient physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual equilibrium to optimize their readiness for intensive residential treatment. They will have support and guidance to handle their life issues enough to help them stabilize. The stabilization phase of treatment may last a few days, or as much as four weeks depending on the individual needs of the client.

Level Two - Intensive Therapy

(minimum 14 days clean & sober prior
                     to admission or assessment interview)

Our traditional ongoing program is four weeks of highly structured education sessions and co-ed or gender-specific small-group therapy.

  • Week 1 - In the first week of Level Two treatment, the group of clients forms a healing community, learns about the definition of addiction and examines their own alcohol and/or drug use history.

  • Week 2 - In the second week, clients learn about denial and the impact their addiction has had on others.

  • Week 3 - The third week examines other influences on addiction, including self-defeating learned behaviours and shame.

  • Week 4 - In the fourth week, the focus is on establishing clear plans for ongoing recovery.

There are weekly AA and NA meetings in-house. Another highlight is our Family Program offering two full days when family and friends are invited to participate in a specialized "family" program.

Level Three - Transition & Re-Entry

                       (eligible upon successful completion of
Level II and availability of beds)
